NUC’s, short for Nucleus Colonies are an essential tool within the arsenal of a Beekeeper.
Our Nucs are assembled and ready for deployment.
Australian-made from NZ radiatta pine has been used. It isn’t waxed dipped, but well painted. Unfortunately, we do not sell flatpack versions. Also, no frames included.
A little about our nucs.
- Lid with galvanized metal sheeting.
- Flexible straps to secure the lid.
- Ventilation (back/front of lid) and near the entrance.
- Entrance reducer which can be closed shut during transportation.
- 22mm full pine construction. Base, walls, lids, etc.
- Painted.
Nucs are great for catching small to medium-sized swarms. However, they are also great for splitting hives, supporting weaker colonies, and as an emergency hive in case required.
